Position Description

The Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR), Tohoku University, Japan, is looking for a
postdoctoral researcher on condensed matter theory and/or AMO theory to join the group
of Prof. Tomoki Ozawa. 

【Description of the Institute】
AIMR was launched as one of the centers established by the World Premier International
Research Centers Initiative (WPI) with the support of the Japanese Ministry of Education,
Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), aimed at developing world-class research
bases in Japan. 
The main characteristics of AIMR are as follows:
  • Collaboration between materials science and mathematics at the research institute level
  • International research environment: about 50 percent of the researchers are from
    overseas
  • Comprehensive English language support
  • Provision of an ideal research environment in all areas, including research equipment and
    grants

【Description of the Group and the Research Field】

The main research interest of Ozawa group is theoretical study of many-body and topological physics in condensed matter and AMO systems. The successful candidate is expected to work in collaboration with other members of
the group and the institute.

【Job Description】
Official Title: Specially Appointed Assistant Professor
Qualifications: Ph. D. degrees or related doctoral degree at the time of employment
Term: Three years
Starting date: September 1, 2025 or earliest possible date thereafter
Salary: Equivalent to JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow
