TNUSS English Communication teachers are responsible for teaching Communication and Academic English classes to junior and senior high school students, as well as supporting the use of English throughout the school. The position is initially for one year and may be extended based on performance.
Job Description:
1. Teaching duties: Approximately sixteen 50-minute classes per week within a 40-hour work week plus some extra classes after school and during seasonal breaks.
2. Duties include:
a. Developing instructional materials, creating lesson plans, unit plans, tests and conversation/listening activities.
b. Consistently delivering quality instruction to students with diverse needs and abilities.
c. Supervising students in intra- and inter-school competitions
d. Preparing students for various tests such as EIKEN, TOEFL, and IELTS
e. Assisting students’ domestic and overseas trips
f. Supervising club activities
3. Administration: Teachers are also required to attend meetings, assist with school events and activities, help administer in-house tests, and collaborate with the school’s PR department on various school promotion activities. Teachers work Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Requirements:
1. English proficiency
2. Must currently reside in Japan
3. University degree
4. Have experience teaching non-English speakers
5. Have experience in collaborative planning and working in a multicultural environment

Salary/Benefits:
1. Salary 3.6M yen/year, commuting allowance, visa/teaching license sponsorship
2. Paid personal leave (10 days/yr for the 1st year, 20 days/yr from the 2nd year)
Approx. 10 paid holidays during winter break
Study leave for professional development (26 days/yr + 10 days in summer)
Japanese holidays
Shortened work hours during spring, summer and winter breaks
Start of Employment:
April 2024 (or January/February 2024)
