Contract Duration: 1 year, with potential renewal
Salary: Salary is decided upon following a review of a candidate’s prior work experience.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching eight 90-minute English language classes/week as part of our English Language program, primarily within the KEY Program – our specialized curriculum in Academic English that aims to enhance academic language skills and empower students to achieve English proficiency. - Developing and implementing a comprehensive preparatory program for study abroad and accompanying students to partner universities to offer continuous support for the students
- Additional responsibilities: facilitating activities pertinent to the functioning of the center. (e.g., research, publication, participation in faculty development, subcommittee work related to the Center for Language Studies and Nagasaki University)
Qualifications:
- MA in TESOL or TESOL-related field
- Demonstrated ability to instruct in a broad range of English Language Teaching
- Demonstrated experience in EFL or ESL curriculum and material development
- Regional and/or international conference presentation experience and research interest/abilities in the TESOL or TESOL-related field
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at Junior College level or higher (part-time experience included)
- Native or near-native proficiency in English
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrative staff (and competency in Japanese is also preferable but not required).
