    Overview
    The Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization (ToMMo) invites applications for 3 open tenure-track senior assistant professor and assistant professor positions for the following fields of expertise:

  • Creation and development of genome reference and database
  • Genome pharmacology and metabolomics analysis
  • Single-cell RNA analysis
  • Required Qualifications
    Candidates must hold a Ph.D. upon taking up the post and have outstanding achievements in the above-mentioned fields of expertise.

    December 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter
    Compensation
    To be determined in accordance to University regulations, based on experience.
    Annual salary system. Approx. starting from 9,000,000 JPY
    Commuting allowance may also be provided

    Term
    Tenure-Track Appointment of 5 years (No reappointments) This is a tenure-track position. Candidates that successfully pass the tenure review before the end of the appointment term will be hired as a tenured Associate Professor. The tenure review will be conducted and the result informed in an appropriate timeframe at least one year before the end of the appointment term.
    Working Hours
    Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work. In general, the hours are from 8:30 to 17:15, but individuals have the discretion to manage their own hours
    Days Off
    Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and New Yearʼs holiday (from December 29 to January 3)
    Insurance Benefits
    Enrollment in the MEXT Mutual Aid Association for health and pension insurance, employment insurance, and Workerʼs Accident Compensation Insurance
    Research Funding
    Basic research funding of 1,000,000 JPY will be provided annually, alongside the hiring of one postdoc. Hired faculty members will be expected to proactively secure external funding as well.
